Key Responsibilities
Support the catering function in food preparation and maintain a clean environment for the safe production of beverages and meals.
Understand and apply the principles of safe food handling to ensure all food preparation meets the highest standards of hygiene.
Contribute fully to team working, respond positively to colleagues, and action all reasonable work instructions promptly.
Advise on the supply and quality of items used to carry out tasks, ensuring timely and appropriate ordering of replacement goods.
Act courteously toward residents and visitors, always respecting the dignity and individuality of each resident.
Person Specification & Requirements
Qualifications: Must hold a Basic Food Hygiene Certificate and demonstrate high standards of personal hygiene.
Essential Knowledge: Familiarity with Health and Safety protocols, particularly Moving and Handling techniques, Fire Safety, and COSHH assessments.
Core Skills & Qualities: An efficient worker capable of a high level of sustained physical effort to handle a demanding workload, combined with initiative, a positive and flexible aptitude, and a caring, understanding attitude toward residents.
Compliance: Enhanced Disclosure and Barring Service (DBS) check required (cost met by Avery Healthcare) alongside proof of eligibility to work in the UK.
