As a supportive bridge staffing agency, we are proud to partner with Tesco to help candidates connect with fantastic retail and leadership careers. Tesco is currently seeking a motivated, experienced Shift Leader to join the permanent day-shift team at their Norwich Plumstead Rd Express store.

This is a dynamic, people-oriented leadership role offering great variety, stability, and everyday challenges. As a Shift Leader, you will be the go-to person for day-to-day operations, supporting your team and helping shoppers experience a fantastic trip every single day.

Availability & Working Hours

• Contracted Hours: 16 hours per week (guaranteed minimum hours policy applies, with options to discuss flexibility down to 12 hours if preferred).

• Required Availability Window:

  • Sunday: 05:30 – 14:30

  • Wednesday: 14:00 – 23:00

  • Thursday: 14:00 – 23:00

  • Saturday: 05:30 – 14:30

• Note: You will receive at least 3 weeks' notice of your exact shift schedules. Applicants must be over 18 years of age to apply for this role.

Key Responsibilities

• Store Leadership: Confidently lead the store in the Manager’s absence, acting as the go-to person for day-to-day operational queries.

• Team Coaching & Support: Coach colleagues, give constructive feedback, and build positive, inclusive relationships that help the team perform at their best.

• Operational Excellence: Work across all areas of the store, making balanced, flexible decisions and adapting well to changing retail needs.

• Customer Service Role Model: Inspire the team and role model great service to ensure every customer's needs are met.

What You Will Need

• Must be over 18 years old to apply.

• Experience working in a team lead or management position in a fast-paced retail environment.

• A strong leadership presence with a passion for delivering great service and motivating others.

• Clear communication skills and the ability to build a supportive, inclusive team environment.
