Application Support Developer – Brighton
Position: Application Support Developer (Permanent, Full-Time / Hybrid)

Supportive Bridge Staffing Agency is partnering with Bupa Global to recruit an experienced and technical Application Support Developer for their Brighton office.
Working within Bupa Global’s IT function, you will act as the technical expert and authority, ensuring an exceptional user experience by swiftly resolving complex IT incidents, events, and requests. Beyond support, you will design solutions, mentor peers, and develop or oversee code to ensure everything built by internal teams and third-party vendors is secure, high-performing, and aligned with business needs.
Key Responsibilities:
Acting as the primary technical authority within your domain, investigating and resolving urgent, complex, and re-occurring IT incidents and events.
Designing technical solutions and ensuring that code delivered by internal teams and outsourced third parties is secure, performant, and fit for purpose.
Managing IT service requests, conducting root-cause analysis, and recommending long-term improvements to overall IT strategy.
Onboarding new IT systems into the Production Services function, acting as the key interface with projects, vendors, and major change programs.
Mentoring peers, junior staff, and assisting with technical training across the team.
Collaborating seamlessly within a matrix-managed environment alongside in-sourced and outsourced IT service providers (including Global IS&T).
Proven experience working within a corporate IT application support function.
Demonstrated experience mentoring peers and more junior technical staff.
Expertise in database technologies such as PL/SQL and/or T-SQL.
Strong working knowledge and experience with REST APIs, Apigee, GCP, Java, JSON, SQL, React, and TypeScript.
Desirable: Experience with Postman, Kafka, Kubernetes, PostgreSQL, MongoDB, Node.js, JavaScript, ChromeDevTools, Azure/AWS, JWT, Azure DevOps/GitHub, Redis, and Cassandra.
Excellent interpersonal, communication, and influencing skills to successfully manage stakeholders and matrix teams.
