Supportive Bridge Staffing & Recruitment is pleased to assist our valued client in recruiting an experienced Senior Nurse for Neonatal Services (Band 8a) to join their clinical leadership team in Gurnos, UK. Based at Prince Charles Hospital within Cwm Taf Morgannwg University Health Board, this permanent full-time post provides operational leadership, clinical governance, and strategic management across neonatal services, including responsibility for Princess of Wales Hospital.
In this full-time role working 37.5 hours per week (including participation in the Maternity and Neonatal Senior Manager on-call rota), you will lead nursing teams to ensure safe, high-quality, and compassionate care for neonates and their families. You will oversee clinical governance, quality assurance, financial budgets, incident investigations, and workforce management while driving service developments aligned with Value Based Healthcare principles.
Role Description
As a Band 8a Senior Nurse for Neonatal Services, you will provide professional leadership, manage operational budgets and staffing, oversee clinical governance and risk management, and participate in the senior manager on-call rota.
Key Responsibilities
Provide professional and clinical leadership for registered nurses and support staff across neonatal services at Prince Charles and Princess of Wales Hospitals.
Manage clinical governance, quality assurance, incident investigations, risk frameworks, and clinical audits to maintain high care standards and safety compliance.
Oversee workforce planning, recruitment, performance management, and financial budgets while driving service improvements aligned with Health Board objectives.
Requirements
Active registration with the NMC as a Registered Nurse with a degree/specialist qualification in Neonatal Nursing, alongside Master's level education (or equivalent experience).
Substantial post-registration clinical experience including leadership, team management, and proven expertise in establishing and developing clinical services.
Ability to travel in a timely manner across Health Board sites and participate in the MatNeo Senior Manager on-call rota (Welsh language skills at Level 3 are desirable).

Calculated hourly rate of £29.94 to £33.70 per hour (based on £58,379 - £65,723 per annum across a standard 37.5-hour work week).
