Health Care Support Worker Band 3

Supportive Bridge Staffing & Recruitment is pleased to assist our valued client in recruiting a dedicated Band 3 Health Care Support Worker to join their Emergency Department. Based at Ysbyty Glan Clwyd under the Betsi Cadwaladr University Health Board, this permanent position (full-time or part-time options available, up to 37.5 hours per week) offers an excellent opportunity to support acute clinical teams in Bodelwyddan, North Wales.

Working within a fast-paced Emergency Department, you will work alongside nurses and clinicians to deliver direct, compassionate patient care. You will assist with clinical observations, patient hygiene, mobility support, and general department workflows to ensure a safe, efficient care environment for patients presenting with urgent care needs.

Role Description

As a Band 3 Health Care Support Worker, you will provide vital direct clinical care, perform patient assessments, assist healthcare professionals in emergency workflows, and support patient comfort within the Emergency Department.

Key Responsibilities

• Assist nursing and medical staff in delivering high-quality clinical and personal care to patients in the Emergency Department.

• Record vital signs, perform basic clinical observations, and promptly report any changes in patient condition to senior team members.

• Maintain clean, safe patient environments, manage department stock levels, and support effective patient flow across multidisciplinary emergency care teams.

Requirements

• NVQ Level 2 in Care (or equivalent healthcare qualification); NVQ Level 3 is desirable.

• Essential previous experience as a healthcare assistant/nursing auxiliary within a healthcare or hospital environment.

• Strong interpersonal, communication, and organizational skills, with a compassionate approach to patient care. Ability to speak Welsh is desirable but not essential.
