About the Role
We are acting on behalf of DoctorPA Secure LTD—an established provider of healthcare in secure environments since 2014—to recruit a dedicated Registered General Nurse (Bank) for the newly expanding healthcare service at Campsfield House Immigration Removal Centre (IRC), commissioned by NHS England.
In this vital bank role, you will help launch and establish a comprehensive primary care service for residents, delivering evidence-based, trauma-informed, and non-judgemental care. Guided by DoctorPA's core CARE ethos (Compassionate, Assurance, Respectful, and Equitable), you will work closely with a multidisciplinary team to manage minor illnesses, conduct medication rounds, respond to medical emergencies, and support resident wellbeing in a secure setting.
Key Responsibilities
1. Clinical Care & Patient Assessment
Carry out medication rounds and safely dispense controlled medications.
Triage and assess patients, managing minor illnesses, injuries, and long-term medical conditions.
Attend emergency response situations and undertake reception screenings and health promotion initiatives.
2. Multidisciplinary Collaboration & Governance
Work collaboratively with multidisciplinary team members, specialist partners, and stakeholders to ensure continuous quality improvement.
Maintain accurate, comprehensive clinical records in strict accordance with governance policies and professional standards.
Act as a named lead nurse for a specific area of healthcare, sharing skills and supporting continuous professional development across the team.
Person Specification
Essential Criteria
Qualifications & Registration: Registered Adult Nurse (RNA) with current, unrestricted NMC professional registration.
Competencies: Excellent communication skills, ability to work independently without direct supervision, strong teamwork capabilities, and alignment with DoctorPA Secure's core values.
Vetting Requirements: Must successfully pass an enhanced Disclosure and Barring Service (DBS) check, Counter Terrorism Clearance (CTC), and meet the 5-year UK residency requirement with no employment gaps.
Desirable Criteria
Previous experience working within a secure setting, immigration removal centre, or primary healthcare environment.
Clinical competencies in venepuncture, wound management (including complex wounds), patient triage, substance misuse, or long-term condition management.
