Role Description
As a Hospital Porter, you will perform physical duties including bed movement and heavy equipment handling in a fast-paced clinical setting. You will communicate warmly with patients to ensure they feel calm and reassured prior to surgery, while working closely with the Theatre Team to maintain operational efficiency and cleanliness.
Key Responsibilities
Transport patients to and from individual rooms and operating theatre suites safely and efficiently.
Assist clinical teams in maintaining, preparing, and cleaning theatre equipment and clinical environments.
Provide compassionate reassurance to patients pre- and post-surgery to support a positive patient experience.
Requirements
Comfortable performing physical work, including pushing beds, lifting, and moving heavy medical equipment.
Strong interpersonal and communication skills with a reassuring, customer-focused approach.
Willingness to complete standard Disclosure and Barring Service (DBS) background checks.
