Supportive Bridge Staffing & Recruitment is pleased to assist our valued client in recruiting an enthusiastic Children's ED Staff Nurse (Band 5) to join their Emergency Department team in Headington, UK. Based at the John Radcliffe Hospital within Oxford University Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust, this permanent post offers an exciting opportunity for a Registered Children's Nurse (RSCN) to deliver high-quality emergency pediatric care within a renowned NHS teaching trust.

In this full-time role working 37.5 hours per week (with part-time options available), you will independently assess, plan, implement, and evaluate nursing care for a caseload of pediatric patients in a fast-paced emergency environment. You will coordinate specific clinical areas within the unit, mentor pre-registration nurses, maintain high standards of clinical documentation, and potentially rotate across both the John Radcliffe Hospital and Horton General Hospital sites.

Role Description

As a Band 5 Children's ED Staff Nurse, you will deliver patient-centered emergency nursing care, manage pediatric clinical caseloads, supervise junior staff and student nurses, and support clinical excellence within a dynamic emergency department.

Key Responsibilities

• Independently assess, deliver, and evaluate nursing care for pediatric patients presenting to the Emergency Department.

• Assume coordinating responsibility for specific clinical areas within the unit, ensuring clinical standards, safeguarding guidelines, and Trust protocols are met.

• Supervise, mentor, and educate pre-registration nursing students and less experienced healthcare staff while accurately documenting patient progress.

Requirements

• Active registration with the NMC as a Registered Children's Nurse (RSCN) with a UK-recognized Degree in Nursing.

• Demonstrated nursing experience within an Emergency Department or acute pediatric ward setting.

• Strong clinical communication, team-working, and organizational abilities, with IV medication administration competence being desirable.
