About the Role
We are acting on behalf of Intrahealth Ltd to recruit an enthusiastic and customer-focused Pharmacy Dispenser to join their community pharmacy team at Chilton.
As Intrahealth develops and expands its primary and community care services, you will play an essential role in delivering efficient, safe, and high-quality pharmaceutical care. Working under the direction of the Pharmacist or Pharmacy Manager, you will assist in providing essential, advanced, and locally commissioned pharmacy services while supporting patients, relatives, and multidisciplinary healthcare professionals.
Key Responsibilities
Dispensing & Supply: Accurately label, assemble, and endorse prescription items, and manage the sale or supply of over-the-counter medicines in compliance with the Medicines Act and local/national guidance (MEP).
Patient Care & Communication: Provide friendly, professional advice and support to patients, carers, and relatives regarding their medications. Build strong working relationships with local GP practices and healthcare teams.
Stock & Environment Management: Maintain appropriate stock levels of all medications and appliances, process orders, and ensure a clean, safe, and compliant working environment.
Governance & Teamwork: Follow standard operating procedures (SOPs), adhere to health and safety regulations, maintain strict patient confidentiality and data protection standards, and cross-cover team duties as required.
Person Specification
Essential Criteria
Qualifications: NVQ Level 2 in Pharmacy Services (or actively working towards it), alongside GCSEs in English and Maths.
Skills & Abilities: Good computer literacy, excellent verbal and written communication skills in English, and the ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a team.
Transport: Current driving licence and access to a reliable vehicle for travel between sites.
Attitude: A courteous, friendly, and professional approach when interacting with staff, customers, and patients. (Note: Previous dispensing experience is not strictly essential, making this a fantastic opportunity for aspiring pharmacy professionals).
Desirable Criteria
Previous experience working within a community pharmacy, healthcare setting, or customer-facing environment.
Familiarity with Patient Medication Record (PMR) systems.
