Dental Nurse (Domiciliary Care) Band 4

Supportive Bridge Staffing & Recruitment is pleased to assist our valued client in recruiting a dedicated Band 4 Dental Nurse to join their Domiciliary Care team within the Community Dental Service. Based at Llandrindod Wells within Powys Teaching Health Board, this permanent full-time position (37.5 hours per week, 7.5 hours per day) offers an opportunity to support the delivery of dental care to patients across Powys who face barriers to accessing clinic-based services.

In this rewarding role, you will work as part of a supportive multidisciplinary dental team, travelling to deliver mobile and domiciliary care in community settings, care homes, and patient residences. You will prepare and monitor patients before and during procedures, anticipate clinical instrumentation, mix materials, deliver pre- and post-operative instructions, and build strong working relationships across health and social care networks.

Role Description

As a Band 4 Domiciliary Dental Nurse, you will assist clinicians during dental procedures, prepare equipment and materials, manage surgery setups, and support patients with special care needs in domiciliary and community settings.

Key Responsibilities

• Prepare and monitor patients for dental treatment, offering pre- and post-operative instructions and ensuring a high standard of clinical care.

• Work autonomously during procedures to anticipate required instrumentation, mix dental materials, and maintain precise posture control and suction support.

• Coordinate surgery setup, manage clinical administration, and liaise with multidisciplinary teams, care homes, social services, and external agencies.

Requirements

• Active registration with the General Dental Council (GDC) as a Qualified Dental Nurse with a National Certificate or equivalent qualification.

• Demonstrated experience in dental administration, prioritizing tasks, managing surgery workloads, and utilizing IT systems (Outlook, Word, Excel).

• Valid capability and willingness to travel flexibly across various locations in Powys in a timely manner.
