At Supportive Bridge Staffing, we specialize in building bridges to career-defining corporate roles. We are thrilled to partner with Aldi to find a driven, trend-conscious, and highly organized Assistant Buyer to join their Freezer Buying team, focusing specifically on one of the nation's favorite categories: Ice Cream.
Frozen food isn’t just a backup plan—it’s a massive £8bn annual UK market. At Aldi, the freezer category is booming, consistently taking more than its fair share of what ends up in customers’ freezers. This is a fast-paced corporate role where small decisions make a huge impact on millions of shoppers every single week. If you want to shape commercial ranges and bring unbeatable value to the UK public, you belong on #TeamAldi.
Working right at the center of the Freezer Buying team, you will help shape the core and seasonal ice cream ranges by managing day-to-day operations and driving product success:
Category & Trend Tracking: Keep your finger on the pulse of emerging global flavor trends, world flavors, and health-focused or convenience-driven formats. You'll help translate these trends into commercially viable products.
Supplier & Global Sourcing: Build deep knowledge of global supply chains and supplier capabilities. Work closely with suppliers and international buying colleagues to leverage Aldi's scale and unlock new product opportunities.
Cross-Functional Collaboration: Coordinate and align with internal teams, including Regional Offices, National Supply Chain Management, Advertising, Communications, Corporate Responsibility, and Quality.
Data Analysis: Work with complex POS and financial data using Microsoft Excel to analyze product performance, identify emerging trends, and support commercial recommendations.
Compliance & Due Diligence: Manage product-related compliance, advertising checks, and administrative due diligence to ensure everything launched is safe, accurate, and ready for the customer.
To thrive in this fast-paced corporate environment, you will bring:
Experience: Previous experience in a Buying role is highly desirable, alongside a proven track record of working within a fast-paced environment.
Technical Skills: Strong Microsoft Office skills (particularly Excel, Word, and PowerPoint) for data analysis and reporting.
Mindset: A strong sense of urgency, adaptability under pressure, and exceptional attention to detail.
Organization: Superior time management skills, with the ability to plan ahead, prioritize duties, and meet tight deadlines.
Communication: Excellent verbal and written communication skills with a natural ability to build and maintain relationships with internal stakeholders and external suppliers.
