About the Role
We are acting on behalf of Alliance Medical Ltd—Europe's leading independent provider of imaging services with over 30 years of consistent growth—to recruit a skilled and motivated PET-CT Radiographer / Technologist for their regional centres in Newcastle and South Tees.
In this vital role, you will deliver exceptional, patient-focused diagnostic care using cutting-edge imaging technologies. While prior experience in PET-CT or nuclear medicine is advantageous, experienced radiographers looking to transition into this field are warmly encouraged to apply, as comprehensive "On the Job" training will be provided in collaboration with the Christie School of Oncology via the PET-CT training academy.
Key Responsibilities
1. Imaging & Radiopharmaceutical Handling
Perform high-quality PET-CT and diagnostic imaging examinations in accordance with clinical protocols and safety standards.
Handle, prepare, and dispense radiopharmaceuticals safely, and undertake intravenous (IV) cannulation (full training provided if required).
Participate in a structured competency development programme to gain a complete mastery of PET-CT operations and clinical workflows.
2. Patient Care & Multi-Site Collaboration
Deliver a patient-focused experience, ensuring individuals feel safe, informed, and supported throughout their imaging journey.
Work collaboratively across multidisciplinary teams, maintaining excellent communication with patients, clinical colleagues, and referrers.
Maintain operational flexibility to travel and operate across multiple regional sites as required by service demands.
Person Specification
Essential Criteria
Qualifications & Registration: Current HCPC registration as a Radiographer (or equivalent voluntary registration/professional qualification).
Experience & Skills: Prior background in Nuclear Medicine or PET-CT, strong interpersonal and organizational skills, IT literacy, and a flexible, adaptable approach to working hours and multi-site travel.
Requirements: Own transportation for regional travel between centres; eligibility to work in the UK (Skilled Worker sponsorship applications are welcomed and considered).
Vetting: Must successfully pass pre-employment checks, including an enhanced Disclosure and Barring Service (DBS) clearance and occupational health assessments.
Desirable Criteria
Direct working experience in PET-CT or computed tomography (CT).
Pre-existing IV Cannulation Certificate.
