We are currently recruiting a dedicated Duty Manager to join the team at Swan Pool & Leisure Centre on behalf of the Leisure Solutions Community Trust (LSCT).
In this vital leadership role, you will oversee the day-to-day operation of the leisure centre, ensuring a safe, welcoming, and enjoyable environment for visitors of all ages. By driving commercial performance, leading high standards of health and safety, and mentoring your team, your work directly encourages active, healthy lifestyles across the local community.
What You’ll Do
As a Duty Manager, your responsibilities will include:
Health, Safety & Compliance: Lead on safety, ensuring compliance with legislation, maintaining safe systems of work, and taking control during incidents and emergencies.
Daily Operations: Oversee smooth facility operations, including opening and closing the centre, managing rotas, and coordinating program delivery.
Commercial Performance: Drive sales activity, member retention, and exceptional customer service standards.
Team Leadership: Lead, coach, and develop colleagues to ensure consistent performance and professional growth.
Hands-On Support: Maintain high standards of facility presentation and provide cover for lifeguarding duties as required.
What We Are Looking For
Experience: Proven experience in leisure, hospitality, or retail management, ideally with a lifeguard background and previous supervisory experience.
Core Skills: Strong understanding of health and safety practices, commercial awareness, and the confidence to lead during high-pressure or emergency situations.
Interpersonal Skills: Excellent communication skills, a hands-on approach, and the ability to motivate others and build trust with customers.
Swimming & Qualifications: A confident swimmer holding a valid National Pool Lifeguard Qualification and National Pool Plant Operators certificate (or willingness to complete training provided).
Vetting and Checks
This role requires an Enhanced DBS check (covering spent and unspent convictions, cautions, and relevant police information) in accordance with safeguarding guidelines, alongside an Occupational Health Questionnaire.
