As a Senior Care Assistant on nights, you will play a vital leadership role in running your unit, driving a team of Care Assistants, and ensuring the highest standards of person-centred care. You will work closely with nurses on clinical duties while helping to train, inspire, and nurture team members to deliver exceptional support.
Key Responsibilities:
Take day-to-day responsibility for running the unit during night shifts, including leading team handovers.
Support clinical duties alongside nurses, such as observing residents, issuing medication, reviewing care plans, and maintaining accurate records.
Drive, manage, train, and mentor a team of Care Assistants so they feel welcomed, supported, and empowered to excel.
Build strong, trusted relationships with residents, their families, and external healthcare professionals like GPs and District Nurses.
Assist residents with a range of personal care duties and wellbeing needs.
Completed or working towards an NVQ Level 3 in care (full support and training provided if needed).
A motivated, positive, and collaborative professional with great interpersonal skills and previous experience in a senior care role.
