We are currently recruiting on behalf of Medequip Assistive Technology Ltd—the UK’s leading provider of community equipment services to the NHS and local authorities—as they look for a dedicated Paediatric Specialist to join their team at the Emersons Green Depot.
About the Role
As a Paediatric Specialist, you will act as the subject matter expert for paediatric equipment, working closely with therapy teams, prescribers, and Community Equipment Stores (CES) colleagues. This role blends technical expertise, hands-on maintenance, and customer care to ensure that children and families receive safe, functional, and life-enhancing equipment.
You will deliver training, carry out specialized repairs both in the depot and out in the community, and drive a company van to transport and install vital equipment safely.
Key Responsibilities:
Specialist Support: Provide expert advice and guidance to prescribers and healthcare professionals regarding paediatric equipment suitability and procurement.
Maintenance & Repair: Service, maintain, and repair paediatric equipment in service users' homes and within the depot, diagnosing faults and carrying out rigorous safety checks.
Driving & Deliveries: Safely drive a large company van to deliver, collect, and install specialist items (such as beds and hoists) across homes, hospitals, and healthcare settings.
Training & Development: Deliver demonstrations and structured training sessions on specialist paediatric equipment.
Customer Care & Safeguarding: Deliver an empathetic, person-centred service to children, families, and carers, while identifying and reporting safeguarding concerns in line with policy.
