We are currently recruiting on behalf of Medequip Assistive Technology Ltd (operating via Barnet Connect)—a leading provider of healthcare service solutions dedicated to helping people stay independent in their own homes for longer—as they look for a dedicated Responder to join their team in East Barnet.
About the Role
As a Responder, you will act as a vital lifeline between vulnerable clients and the urgent support they need. Based from home, you will respond directly to alarm activations dispatched from the Emergency Response Centre, attending client homes to assess situations, provide reassurance, and assist.
You will also handle equipment installations, maintenance, and referrals, ensuring clients stay safe, confident, and independent at home.
Key Responsibilities:
Make immediate responses and prompt attendance to emergency alarm calls, assessing care and support needs.
Provide or facilitate appropriate on-site support and emergency coordination.
Deal with maintenance and the installation of alarm equipment at client premises, explaining how devices work.
Undertake ‘last resort’ personal care during callouts when required to maintain a client's dignity.
Assist with the promotion of the service within local communities.
About You
You don't need previous industry experience—full training will be provided! What matters most is a responsible, caring nature, genuine empathy for the welfare of elderly adults, and a flexible approach to working hours.
Driving Requirements: You must hold a full UK driving licence and have access to an appropriately insured and taxed vehicle for business use.
Location Note: Must be based within the local area (East Barnet / surrounding region).
Personal Qualities: Compassionate, reliable, level-headed under pressure, and dedicated to promoting client dignity and independence.
Right to Work: Candidates must possess the full, satisfactory right to work in the UK (this role is not eligible for visa sponsorship).
