The Opportunity
We are looking for a highly skilled Microsoft Security Engineer to join a dynamic contract engagement with a strong focus on securing and standardizing Microsoft environments across a complex enterprise estate.
In this fully remote role, you will take ownership of implementing core security controls, driving automation, and ensuring that security postures meet stringent organizational baselines and standards.
Key Responsibilities
Implement and manage Microsoft security controls across M365, Microsoft Defender XDR, Intune, Entra ID, and Defender for Cloud.
Ensure all environments meet defined security baselines, compliance configurations, and industry standards.
Drive hands-on policy development, device onboarding, and Conditional Access implementations.
Build robust security automation workflows using PowerShell, Microsoft Graph API, and JSON.
Support the integration of Microsoft security technologies across new and existing environments.
Provide technical guidance to wider IT teams to ensure controls are effectively deployed and smoothly transitioned into BAU.
What We’re Looking For
Strong, practical commercial experience across the Microsoft security stack, particularly M365, Defender XDR, Intune, and Entra ID.
Demonstrated automation capabilities using PowerShell, Microsoft Graph API, and JSON.
Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills.
Advantageous: Experience with Azure security, Identity and Access Management (IAM), M&A scenarios, and familiarity with frameworks like NIST, ISO 27001, or CIS.
