Paediatric Staff Nurse (Bank)

Supportive Bridge Staffing & Recruitment is seeking a dedicated Paediatric Staff Nurse (RSCN) to join the nursing team at The Vale Hospital near Cardiff in the Vale of Glamorgan, UK. In this role, you will deliver high-quality, clinically effective care to children aged 3–16 years across pre- and post-operative ward stays, clinics, and hospital procedures.

Working on a flexible bank contract basis, you will support paediatric care on an ad-hoc schedule to suit facility requirements and your personal availability, including potential weekend shifts. You will act as a trusted source of support for both young patients and their families, working within a modern, technologically advanced private hospital environment.

Key Responsibilities

• Deliver compassionate, evidence-based nursing care to children aged 3–16 during pre- and post-operative stays, outpatient clinics, and diagnostic procedures.

• Provide clear communication, reassurance, and emotional support to paediatric patients and their parents or guardians throughout their care pathway.

• Collaborate effectively with multidisciplinary hospital teams across surgical and specialist areas, supporting both paediatric and adult care environments.

Requirements

• Active registration with the Nursing and Midwifery Council (NMC) as a Registered Children's Nurse (RSCN) or equivalent.

• Proven post-registration nursing experience, ideally within a paediatric surgical ward or acute care setting.

• Certification in Intermediate Life Support (ILS) or Advanced Life Support (ALS) is highly desirable.
