Healthcare Assistant NHS AfC: Band 3

Supportive Bridge Staffing & Recruitment is pleased to assist our valued client in recruiting a dedicated Healthcare Assistant (Band 3) to join their Lytham District Nursing Team in Lytham, UK. Based at Lytham Primary Care Centre within Blackpool Teaching Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust, this permanent post offers a rewarding opportunity to deliver high-quality community nursing care directly to patients in their own homes.

In this full-time role working 37.5 hours per week (distributed over 5 days, including rotational weekends and Bank Holidays), you will support the multidisciplinary district nursing team in executing essential clinical interventions. Key clinical tasks include taking vital signs observations, performing venepuncture, providing wound care and dressings, conducting pressure area care, and assisting with health promotion. Full Trust-funded training will be provided to help you acquire and develop these clinical skills.

Role Description

As a Band 3 Community Healthcare Assistant, you will deliver direct patient care, carry out clinical procedures in home settings, support district nurses, and maintain accurate patient documentation across the community service.

Key Responsibilities

• Perform direct clinical care tasks within patient homes, including routine clinical observations, phlebotomy, basic wound care, and pressure damage prevention.

• Liaise effectively with the multidisciplinary team to communicate patient progress and care needs, ensuring safe decision-making and continuous care.

• Maintain accurate, timely written and electronic clinical records in full compliance with Trust policies, legal standards, and data protection guidelines.

Requirements

• Care Certificate qualification (or willingness to work towards), alongside a good general education (GCSE Grade C/4 or equivalent in English and Maths).

• Valid UK driving licence and full access to an insured vehicle suitable for work-related community travel across Lytham, Fylde, and surrounding areas.

• Strong interpersonal skills, basic IT proficiency, clerical experience, and a compassionate, adaptable approach to working within patients' home environments.
