About the Role

Take the lead in your own Co-op store and make a lasting impact in the local community! Supportive Bridge Staffing Agency is proud to partner with Co-op to recruit a driven and experienced Store Manager for their store on Old London Road in Brighton, Patcham.

In this pivotal full-time role, you will take total ownership of your store’s performance—leading both commercial strategies and community initiatives. By building and coaching an inclusive, high-performing team, you will create a positive environment where colleagues can grow while delivering a fantastic shopping experience for every customer.

Key Responsibilities

• Leadership & Culture: Lead, coach, and develop your team, building an inclusive, high-performing culture where everyone feels valued and confident.

• Store Performance: Own store performance by utilizing commercial insights to drive sales, improve results, and maintain high standards.

• Operations & Compliance: Ensure the store is safe, legal, and running smoothly on a daily basis.

• People Management: Manage recruitment, training, and HR processes with a hands-on approach.

• Community & Membership: Champion Co-op membership growth and support local causes to bring the Co-op purpose to life.

• Experience: Proven experience leading and developing a team in a busy, service-focused retail environment.

• Communication & Coaching: Confident communication skills with the ability to coach and inspire others to perform at their best.

• Commercial Acumen: The ability to understand and use commercial information to make sound decisions and improve performance.

• Resilience & Hands-On Approach: Strong problem-solving skills, flexibility to support the team, and the resilience to thrive in a fast-paced environment.

• Assessment Requirement: (Note: The application process includes two short online assessments taking around 20 minutes).
