About the Role Supportive Bridge Staffing Agency is proud to partner with ABL Health Ltd—a CQC-registered community health provider—to source a motivated Trainee CYP High Intensity CBT Practitioner. In this developmental role, you will study towards a Post Graduate Diploma in Psychological Therapies Practice (CYP CBT Practitioner) at the University of Exeter—a BABCP Level 2 accredited course—while working within a dynamic multidisciplinary mental health team across Swindon. You will combine academic learning with hands-on clinical practice, delivering evidence-based cognitive behavioral therapy to children, young people, and their families.

Key Responsibilities

• Complete all academic requirements, modules, and self-study days mandated by the University of Exeter.

• Assess and deliver outcome-focused, evidence-based CBT interventions under expert supervision for children and young people experiencing mild to moderate mental health difficulties.

• Manage an agreed clinical caseload, conduct risk assessments, handle safeguarding concerns, and provide guided self-help and structured therapeutic support.

• Work collaboratively with multi-agency partners, educational settings, and families to design intervention plans and maintain accurate clinical documentation.

• Participate actively in regular clinical and professional supervision, service evaluations, and data collection initiatives.

Person Specification & Requirements

• Academic Requirement: Level 6 qualification (Bachelor’s degree BA/BSc or equivalent) or equivalent prior learning intensity.

• Professional Background (Route A or B):

  • Route A: A recognized core profession (e.g., BACP Accredited Therapist, Social Worker, OT, or RMN) with at least 2 years of full-time equivalent practice working with children, young people, or families in mental health.

  • Route B: Relevant professional experience of 1:1 therapy or counseling with children and young people, supported by a completed KSA (Knowledge, Skills, and Attitudes) portfolio.

• Experience: Minimum of 2 years of experience working with children, young people, and families in a mental health setting, with a strong grasp of child development and safeguarding principles.

• Right to Work: Must have the permanent right to work in the UK (this role is not eligible for visa sponsorship).

• Compliance: Ability to travel independently across the region and subject to an enhanced Disclosure and Barring Service (DBS) check.
