Supportive Bridge Staffing Agency is proud to partner with secure and justice facilities to connect passionate professionals with transformative roles. We are currently seeking a dedicated Speech and Language Therapist to join the Therapeutic Community team at HMP Dovegate on a part-time basis (one day per week).
In this vital role within the Enhanced Assessment Unit, you will provide specialist assessment and intervention to support adults with complex communication needs within a secure environment. Your expertise will directly enhance engagement in therapy, encourage positive behaviour change, and drive long-term rehabilitation outcomes.
As a key member of our multidisciplinary team, your responsibilities will include:
Specialist Assessment: Deliver comprehensive speech, language, and communication assessments and formulations.
Targeted Intervention: Provide functional speech and language therapy to support comprehension, expression, and social interaction.
Community Support: Help participants actively engage in therapy groups, community meetings, and daily community living.
Multidisciplinary Collaboration: Work alongside colleagues to offer expert consultation and practical communication strategies.
Risk Management: Identify communication-related risk and protective factors to foster safer rehabilitation outcomes.
Clinical Standards: Maintain accurate clinical records and actively engage in professional and clinical supervision.
You’ll be a fantastic fit for this position if you possess:
A recognized degree in Speech and Language Therapy.
Current HCPC (Health and Care Professions Council) registration and RCSLT (Royal College of Speech and Language Therapists) membership.
Proven experience delivering speech and language therapy to adults with complex needs.
Confidence working within a multidisciplinary team and sharing specialist insights.
A strong working understanding of trauma-informed practice and its impact on communication.
Clear, adaptable communication skills, strong emotional resilience, and sound professional judgement.
Competitive Pay: £37,412.50 - £38,629 per annum (pro rata).
