Location: Selby (A historic site operating since 1914, employing over 750 colleagues as the UK’s number one manufacturer of customer private label cooking sauces and pickles, producing over 160 million units per year for Morrisons, Tesco, and Asda)
Pay Rate: £18.07 per hour, rising to £18.54 per hour upon completion of training
Job Type: Permanent - Full-Time
Shift Pattern: Nights - Sunday to Tuesday, 18:00 – 06:00 (Rotating after 6 weeks to Wednesday to Friday for a further 6 weeks)

As a supportive bridge staffing agency, we are proud to partner with Greencore (following their combination with Bakkavor) to find dedicated operations and machinery talent. Greencore is one of the UK’s leading convenience food creators, employing over 28,000 colleagues across 36 manufacturing sites and 21 distribution depots.
At their historic Selby manufacturing facility, we are currently seeking a skilled and proactive Machine Operative for the night shift to ensure the efficient running of production machinery and maintain top-tier output quality.
Key Responsibilities
Machinery Oversight & Efficiency: Ensure the smooth operation of the SMI and associated equipment (such as logopak, spice capper, top tagger, video equipment, and pallet stacking).
Troubleshooting & Maintenance: Troubleshoot and resolve minor mechanical and procedural issues, manage capper changeovers, and maintain line efficiencies.
Quality & Compliance: Ensure correct glass and caps are on the line, work closely with QA, maintain a "Right First Time" ethos, and strictly prioritize health, safety, and food standards.
Team Support & Data: Complete accurate data capture and assist with mentoring and training new staff members.
What We Are Looking For
Experience: Essential hands-on experience working with machinery in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.
Core Skills: Strong verbal and written communication skills, high attention to detail, and the ability to work under pressure.
Work Ethic: Adaptability, flexibility, strong teamwork, a positive attitude, and willingness to work in a production environment with varying temperatures while complying with all health and safety policies.
