• Salary: Annual salary of up to £53,000 (pro rata considered for 4 days a week)

Join us at an exciting time as we develop a new pathway for young adults presenting with complex trauma, where you will play a key role in service development, specialized assessments, and evidence-based interventions using a formulation-driven, trauma-informed model of care.

What You Will Be Doing

• Work autonomously to provide a specialist clinical psychology service, conducting assessments and evidence-based interventions for adult service users with acute mental health needs.

• Design and deliver specialist psychological treatments, run therapeutic ward groups, and maintain comprehensive electronic records and risk assessments.

• Attend ward rounds, multidisciplinary team meetings, and CPAs, preparing high-quality clinical reports and discharge summaries.

• Facilitate staff reflective practice sessions (with flexible working arrangements to cover early morning or evening shifts for day and night staff).

• Contribute actively to service development initiatives, including the new young adult complex trauma pathway.

Key Skills & Qualifications

• A BPS-recognized psychology degree alongside active HCPC registration.

• A strong understanding of evidence-based psychological practice and trauma-informed care frameworks.

• Proven experience applying psychological knowledge within a psychiatric or mental health setting (inpatient experience is highly desirable).

• Excellent communication, reporting, and collaborative multidisciplinary team-working skills.

Where You Will Be Working

Potters Bar Clinic provides 24-hour specialist care for adults and young people with acute mental health needs and personality disorders, including CAMHS Tier 4 Low Secure services. Located in a residential Hertfordshire area, the clinic is a one-minute drive from the M25 and a short bus ride from Potters Bar Train Station (with a bus stop right outside), making for an easy commute.
