What You Will Be Doing
Support the Head Chef with the day-to-day running of the kitchen, taking full shift responsibility for catering operations.
Prepare, plan, and cook meals to a high standard, taking into account special requests, dietary requirements, and mass service needs.
Research and create new menus ensuring high quality and alignment with healthy eating guidelines, while infusing personal flair into celebratory events (e.g., World Food Day, Christmas, Easter).
Maintain strict food safety standards, handling HACCP paperwork (fridge temperatures, cleaning schedules) and adhering strictly to food hygiene regulations.
Key Skills & Qualifications
Must be 18 years or older with GCSE English (or equivalent).
City & Guilds 706/1 and 2 (or equivalent) Basic Food Preparation Cooking qualification.
Essential Basic Food Hygiene certification (Intermediate Food Hygiene is desirable).
Previous experience in a similar catering environment with working knowledge of menu planning, costing, stock control, and mass service delivery.
