About the Role

Are you a proactive, analytical professional looking to accelerate your career in retail buying? Supportive Bridge Staffing Agency is seeking an enthusiastic Assistant Buyer – Fresh to join the National Office team of our leading retail partner in Atherstone.

In this dynamic role, you will be at the heart of the buying lifecycle across Fresh categories (Chill, Produce, and Freezer). From crunching data and preparing tender documents to managing supplier communications and driving product innovation, your insights and proposals will directly shape what appears on the shelves nationwide.

Key Responsibilities

• Product & Supplier Management: Maintain full product and supplier knowledge across Core, Seasonal, and Specialbuy Fresh lines (Chill, Produce, Freezer).

• Cross-Functional Communication: Manage accurate communication across internal teams (Supply Chain, Advertising, PR, Quality) and external suppliers/agencies.

• Data Analysis & POS: Analyze complex POS and financial data using advanced Excel to inform buying decisions.

• Compliance & Due Diligence: Manage due diligence, advertising details, and product compliance for your assigned areas.

• Innovation & Growth: Actively drive category innovation, efficiency, and continuous improvement.

What We’re Looking For

• Analytical & Tech-Savvy: Strong proficiency in Microsoft Office (especially Excel, Word, and PowerPoint) with a proven ability to analyze complex data.

• Relationship Management: Exceptional verbal and written communication skills with experience building strong supplier and stakeholder relationships.

• Fast-Paced Adaptability: Thrives under pressure, acts with a sense of urgency, and demonstrates top-tier organizational skills to meet strict deadlines.

• Industry Experience: Experience in a fast-paced environment is required; prior experience in a Buying or Commercial role is highly desirable.

• Commute Requirement: Must reside within a 90-minute commute of the Atherstone National Office.
