Supportive Bridge Staffing Agency is proud to partner with custodial training providers to connect dedicated educational and vocational professionals with rewarding rehabilitation careers. We are currently recruiting an experienced Industrial Skills Tutor to join the team at HMP Dovegate in Staffordshire.
In this vital role, you will use your industry expertise—particularly in warehousing, logistics, or manufacturing—to help individuals in prison develop practical skills, earn qualifications, and prepare for sustainable employment and a positive future beyond the gates. Your work will play a crucial role in rehabilitation and reducing reoffending.
As an Industrial Skills Tutor, your responsibilities will include:
Vocational Teaching: Deliver engaging, practical learning across vocational disciplines, embedding employability, functional skills, and British Values throughout.
Learner Planning: Create and maintain Individual Learning Plans, design flexible schemes of work, and closely track learner progress.
Assessment & Administration: Administer assessments, marking, and accreditation processes in line with awarding body requirements.
Pastoral Support: Act as a Personal Tutor to help learners build confidence, resilience, and positive work-ready behaviours.
Safety & Compliance: Maintain safe, inclusive, and motivating learning environments adhering strictly to security, safeguarding, and compliance protocols.
Experience: Proven experience delivering warehousing, logistics, manufacturing skills, or work-based learning within an education, training, or industry setting.
Qualifications: A minimum Level 3 teaching qualification and Level 3 assessor qualification.
Core Skills: Strong organisational, communication, and coaching skills with the ability to motivate diverse learners.
Professional Attitude: A deep commitment to high-quality teaching, continuous improvement, and working confidently within a structured custodial environment.
An Enhanced DBS check is required for this role (covering spent and unspent convictions, cautions, and relevant police information in accordance with safeguarding requirements). Candidates will also complete an Occupational Health Questionnaire to support success in the role.
Competitive Pay: £33,738 – £37,652 per annum plus excellent benefits.
