About the Role

We are currently recruiting an HGV Driver (Days) for the Sheppey Distribution Centre.

This is more than just a typical driving job. Unusually, your shift is split between professional driving (~40% of your time) and active loading and unloading (~60% of your time). It’s an active, physical role where you'll ensure space on your vehicle is maximized while keeping safety at the absolute forefront. As store networks rapidly expand, your work is critical to keeping shelves stocked and communities supplied.

Detailed Key Responsibilities

• Vehicle Loading & Unloading: Safely and efficiently load goods onto the vehicle, maximizing all available space, and unload deliveries at store sites.

• Safe Transport: Drive HGV vehicles professionally and safely between the Sheppey Distribution Centre and store locations.

• Safety & Due Diligence: Perform regular pre-trip vehicle inspections, secure loads, and strictly adhere to transport regulations and safety protocols.

• Active Operations: Work collaboratively with logistics and store teams to keep stock moving seamlessly.

Candidate Profile & Qualifications

• Licensing: Valid UK HGV licence (Category C or C+E).

• Physical Fitness: Comfortable with a hands-on, physically active role involving regular lifting, loading, and unloading.

• Safety Mindset: High regard for road safety, vehicle compliance, and manual handling practices.

• Work Ethic: Reliable, punctual, and adaptable in a fast-paced supply chain environment.
