Pay Rate: Starting at £15.60 per hour, rising to £16.02 per hour once trained
Job Type: Permanent - Full-Time
Shift Pattern: Day Shifts (06:00 - 18:00), 3 x 12-hour shifts working Monday to Wednesday or Thursday to Saturday (alternating every 6 weeks)

As a supportive bridge staffing agency, we are thrilled to partner with Greencore (following their recent combination with Bakkavor) to find skilled manufacturing talent. Greencore is one of the UK’s leading creators of convenience food, employing over 28,000 colleagues across 36 manufacturing sites and 21 distribution depots.
At their historic Selby facility—operating since 1914 and proudly employing over 750 colleagues as the UK’s number one manufacturer of customer private label cooking sauces and pickles (producing over 160 million units annually for Morrisons, Tesco, and Asda)—we are currently looking for a dedicated Skilled Machine Operator to join their dynamic day shift team.
Key Responsibilities
Machinery Operation & Efficiency: Ensure the efficient running of the SMI and associated equipment (including logopak, spice capper, top tagger, video coder, and pallet stacking).
Troubleshooting: Resolve minor mechanical and procedural issues, complete capper changeovers when required, and maintain line efficiencies using a "Right First Time" ethos.
Collaboration & QA: Work closely alongside QA, Area Process Leaders, Line Coordinators, Engineers, and Shift Managers while completing accurate data capture.
Safety & Mentorship: Maintain strict health, safety, and food safety standards at all times, while assisting with the training and mentoring of new staff members.
What We Are Looking For
Experience: Essential hands-on experience working with machinery within a manufacturing or production environment.
Core Skills: Strong verbal and written communication skills, exceptional attention to detail, and the ability to work calmly under pressure in a fast-paced setting.
Attributes: A positive attitude, strong work ethic, flexibility, teamwork, and willingness to work in a production environment with varying temperatures.
