About the Role

Supportive Bridge Staffing Agency is proud to partner with The Princess Margaret Hospital in Windsor—part of Circle Health Group, Britain's leading independent healthcare provider—to recruit a skilled Lead Theatre Practitioner specialising in Anaesthetics and Recovery for their busy Theatre department.

This is a permanent, full-time position working 37.5 hours a week on a flexible shift pattern. In this key leadership role, you will oversee the delivery of exceptional patient care across the perioperative pathway, guide daily operations, advocate for patient safety, and lead a multidisciplinary team of theatre professionals.

Key Responsibilities

• Perioperative Leadership: Lead the delivery of high-quality, patient-centred care across the perioperative pathway, acting as a functional or specialist lead within the team.

• Patient Safety Oversight: Ensure all necessary safety checks, including WHO surgical safety processes, are rigorously carried out in compliance with hospital policy.

• Team Supervision: Provide day-to-day leadership, mentorship, and supervision for theatre practitioners and support staff, fostering a culture of professionalism, compassion, and accountability.

• Patient Advocacy: Act as a dedicated advocate for patients, guaranteeing their rights, safety, and dignity are protected at all times.

• Regulatory Compliance: Apply all relevant legislation, policies, and procedures to theatre operations to maintain high professional standards.

• Collaborative Working: Work closely alongside anaesthetists, surgeons, recovery staff, and broader hospital teams to ensure seamless patient flow and continuity of care.

Candidate Requirements

• Registration: Current NMC or HCPC registered practitioner.

• Experience: Significant background working within a clinical theatre environment (specifically across scrub, recovery, or anaesthetics).

• Leadership Skills: Demonstrated clinical leadership capability with a proven track record of acting as a positive role model to peers.

• Core Qualifications & Certifications: ENB 998 and/or mentorship course, an approved/recognised anaesthetic course, current ILS certification, and a Scrub Practitioner or Surgical First Assistant qualification (where applicable).

• Desirable Experience: Previous background or hands-on exposure to major orthopaedic surgery.

• Key Attributes: Excellent communication, organisation, and mentoring skills, combined with a strong understanding of clinical governance, infection control, and safeguarding protocols.
