Shift Pattern: Saturday to Wednesday OR Thursday to Monday, 06:00 – 14:30
About the Role
As a supportive bridge staffing agency, we are proud to partner with Greencore (following their combination with Bakkavor) to find skilled operations talent. Greencore is one of the UK’s leading convenience food creators, employing over 28,000 colleagues across 36 manufacturing sites and 21 distribution depots.
At their flagship Northampton facility—operating across a 5-unit campus with around 2,000 colleagues as the sole supplier of sandwiches, wraps, rolls, and sushi for Marks & Spencer—we are currently seeking a proactive and detail-oriented Machine Minder for the day shift.
Key Responsibilities
Machinery Oversight: Handle daily machinery start-ups, maintain continuous oversight during production, and report any faults promptly.
Compliance & Verification: Perform regular compliance checks, including accurate date and code verification, and ensure correct label usage.
Safety & Quality Control: Adhere strictly to risk assessments, safety controls, and Safe Systems of Work (SSOW) to maintain a safe environment. Conduct quality checks and address food safety issues immediately.
Team Collaboration: Work closely and collaboratively within a close-knit production team.
What We Are Looking For
Full on-the-job training is provided. The ideal candidate will possess:
Communication & Numeracy: Good verbal and written English language skills alongside solid basic numeracy.
Work Ethic: High attention to detail, accuracy, the ability to work well under pressure, and a strong commitment to safe working practices.
Experience: Previous background in an FMCG, warehouse, or manufacturing environment is advantageous, though full training is provided.
