About the Role Supportive Bridge Staffing Agency is proud to partner with Avery Healthcare Group—one of the UK's leading providers of luxury elderly care homes—to source an experienced Regional Maintenance Support Operative for their Central Region. Operating as a mobile role within the Estates team, you will provide essential maintenance cover across multiple care homes when local support is unavailable, helping to uphold Avery’s vision of "Creating Meaningful Lives Together" with excellence in every detail. When cover is not required, you will actively support property improvement projects, upgrades, and refurbishments across the portfolio.
Key Responsibilities
Provide mobile maintenance support and cover across multiple care homes within the central region as required.
Complete routine safety and compliance inspections, including checks on fire safety, water systems, emergency lighting, and essential equipment.
Carry out general repairs and maintenance, spanning basic electrical work, plumbing, carpentry, decorating, and building tasks.
Train and support new maintenance colleagues in statutory checks and standard procedures.
Assist with refurbishment and improvement projects by aiding with planning, risk assessments, and material procurement while maintaining high standards of health and safety.
Manage company vehicle responsibilities, including basic upkeep and expense reporting.
Person Specification & Requirements
Experience & Skills: Proven experience in general building maintenance or a trade-related environment, with practical skills across multiple disciplines (plumbing, carpentry, decorating, and basic electrical work).
Core Competencies: Working knowledge of health and safety procedures (such as manual handling and COSHH), excellent organisational and communication skills, and the ability to prioritise tasks while working on your own initiative.
Travel Requirements: A flexible approach with a willingness to travel extensively across the central region, including occasional overnight stays, backed by a full UK driving licence.
