Day Rate: £500 – £550 per day

The Opportunity
We are seeking a highly skilled Security Engineer to help secure, standardize, and onboard Microsoft environments across a complex enterprise estate. This role features a strong focus on supporting Mergers & Acquisitions (M&A) activity, bringing newly acquired businesses into a consistent, robust Microsoft security framework.
Please note: This contract requires working US hours from the UK, covering Monday to Friday from 3:00 PM to 11:00 PM.
Key Responsibilities
Implement and manage Microsoft security controls across M365, Microsoft Defender XDR, Intune, Entra ID, and Defender for Cloud, ensuring environments meet strict security baselines.
Support M&A activity by assessing newly acquired business environments and onboarding them into the wider Microsoft security estate.
Manage and secure multi-tenant and hybrid environments, leveraging experience with Azure Arc and Azure Lighthouse for distributed estates.
Drive hands-on policy development, device onboarding, Conditional Access, compliance configuration, and security testing.
Utilize automation tools including PowerShell, Microsoft Graph API, and JSON.
Integrate Microsoft security technologies across new and existing environments, providing technical guidance to IT teams and ensuring smooth transitions into BAU.
What We’re Looking For
Strong practical experience across the Microsoft security stack (M365, Defender XDR, Intune, and Entra ID).
Experience with Azure security, Azure Arc, Azure Lighthouse, and Identity & Access Management (IAM).
Proven background supporting M&A technical onboarding or similar integration activities.
Solid scripting and automation skills using PowerShell, Microsoft Graph API, and JSON.
Familiarity with industry security frameworks such as NIST, ISO 27001, or CIS.
Ability to commit to working US hours (Monday to Friday, 3:00 PM – 11:00 PM GMT) from a remote base in the UK.
