We are proud to partner with BAE Systems to source an experienced Senior Maintenance Engineer (Planning) to join their Central Planning Hub in Portsmouth.
About the Role
Working as a Through Life Engineer within the Central Planning Hub, you will produce accurate, optimized maintenance work packages using industry-standard maintenance management toolsets. By leveraging defect trend analysis, maintenance data, and material state insights, you will champion standardization, robust engineering governance, and continuous improvement across current and future customer programmes.
Core Duties & Responsibilities:
Produce accurate, optimized maintenance work packages in MAXIMO using approved MMS data and technical documentation.
Ensure all packages comply with maintenance policy, statutory regulations, and engineering governance via Gate Reviews and PDRLs.
Analyze resource demand, task duration, maintenance history, costs, and defect trends to improve forecasting and demand planning.
Collaborate closely with Maintenance Engineers, Platform Teams, Ship Delivery, and Supply Chain communities to align work packages.
Monitor released work packages for safe completion, accurate recording in UMMS/MAXIMO, and effective close-out with lessons applied.
Drive continuous improvement through root cause analysis, failure data assessment, and support for digital toolset enhancements.
What We Are Looking For (Essential Skills & Qualifications):
Educational Background: ONC, HNC, HND, or Degree-level education in an Engineering discipline, or equivalent relevant working experience.
Specialist Knowledge: Specialist mechanical or electrical engineering expertise and working knowledge of the Engineering Lifecycle.
Systems Experience: Practical experience using Maintenance Management Systems, coupled with strong problem-solving and Root Cause Analysis skills.
Regulatory Awareness: A strong commitment to statutory regulations, including Information Systems, Safety, Health & Environment (SHE), and Security requirements.
Security Note: Due to defense and export control restrictions, all applicants must achieve at least a Baseline Personnel Security Standard. Higher levels of National Security Vetting may apply where required.
