Position: Fixed-Term Kitchen Assistant
Location: Brookside Care Home, Ruskin Avenue, Melksham, SN12 7NG
Pay Rate: £13.01 per hour (Mon–Fri) / £13.41 per hour (Weekends)
Contract Type: Fixed Term / 12 hours per week
About the Role
As a Supportive Bridge Staffing Agency, we are proud to partner with this leading not-for-profit provider to find a friendly and dedicated Kitchen Assistant for Brookside Care Home in Melksham.
Serving the local and wider Wiltshire community for over 40 years, Brookside is an established care home offering compassionate, individualised residential care for up to 50 residents. Joining our passionate and friendly catering team, you will help create delicious meals, snacks, and drinks, ensuring that mealtimes are always a welcoming highlight of our residents' day.
Key Responsibilities
Assist the catering team in preparing and serving nutritious meals, snacks, and refreshments.
Maintain exceptional standards of kitchen hygiene, cleanliness, and safety at all times.
Get to know our residents, learning their individual preferences and dietary needs to ensure a personal dining experience.
Work collaboratively as part of a warm, supportive extended family team dedicated to resident wellbeing.
What We Are Looking For
Experience: Formal catering experience is not essential (we provide full training!), though holding a Basic Food Hygiene Certificate is a bonus.
Attributes: A positive, can-do approach, a passion for food and hygiene, and excellent communication skills.
Engagement: A friendly, caring manner with the confidence to chat with elderly residents and understand their individual needs.
