About the Role Supportive Bridge Staffing Agency is proud to partner with SWFT Clinical Services Ltd—a wholly owned subsidiary of the South Warwickshire University NHS Foundation Trust—to source an experienced and enthusiastic EBME Support Technician. In this role, you will join the Electro-Biomedical Engineering (EBME) team to carry out routine maintenance, fault finding, and repairs on a wide range of diagnostic medical devices both within Warwick Hospital and out in the community across Warwickshire.
Key Responsibilities
Undertake daily maintenance, servicing, and repair of medical and diagnostic devices following ISO9001:2015 quality procedures, including board-level fault finding using test equipment and hand tools.
Perform scheduled electrical safety tests, visual inspections, and acceptance testing of medical equipment across hospital sites and community locations.
Generate and maintain accurate service records, inputting equipment history and data into the departmental database.
Support the equipment loan store by making regular and ad-hoc deliveries and collections of medical devices to wards and departments.
Ensure all work complies with health and safety regulations, safety procedures, and manual handling guidelines while maintaining a courteous, sensitive manner in clinical areas.
Person Specification & Requirements
Qualifications & Training: NVQ Level 3 (or equivalent) in an Electrical/Electronic engineering discipline, backed by training or courses on the principles of electrical safety testing.
Experience: Three or more years of practical, hands-on experience repairing electrical and mechanical/electronic devices and conducting fault finding.
Core Skills & Qualities: Computer literacy (including Microsoft Office packages), strong interpersonal and communication skills, adaptability, and the ability to work effectively both autonomously and within a mobile team.
Compliance & Travel: Full clean driving licence (as a department van is provided for district-wide travel), successful passage through occupational health screening, and an enhanced Disclosure and Barring Service (DBS) check.
