Salary: Up to £18.57 per hour (equivalent to approx. £38,760 per annum based on a 40-hour week) + £1,000 Welcome Bonus + up to £3,000 OTE via quarterly performance bonus scheme

About the Role
We are partnering with The Bridles—a brand-new, state-of-the-art care home in Wincanton—to find an experienced and visionary Head Chef to lead our kitchen team. This is a fantastic opportunity for an ambitious Chef Manager, Head Chef, Kitchen Manager, or Senior Sous Chef looking to step into a rewarding leadership role that offers much more predictable, sociable working hours than traditional hotel, restaurant, or hospitality environments.
As Head Chef through Supportive Bridge, you will take complete ownership of kitchen operations at our brand-new facility, designing nutritious, appealing menus and establishing an exceptional dining culture from day one to support the health and wellbeing of our residents.
Key Responsibilities
Lead, mentor, and develop the kitchen team, fostering a positive working culture and supporting professional growth.
Create and deliver nutritious, appealing menus tailored to residents' preferences, dietary requirements, and high standards of taste.
Manage kitchen operations, stock control, and budgets efficiently while ensuring absolute compliance with food safety regulations.
Deliver an exceptional dining experience for residents, collaborating closely with care home teams to make every meal a highlight of the day.
What We Are Looking For
Proven experience as a Head Chef, Chef Manager, Kitchen Manager, or a Senior Sous Chef ready for the next step.
Welcoming applications from diverse backgrounds, including restaurants, hotels, contract catering, education, healthcare, and volume catering (prior care home experience is not essential).
Strong people leadership skills with a proven track record of managing kitchen operations and budgets.
Excellent food safety knowledge, compliance experience, and a genuine passion for delivering great food and customer service.
