About the Role
As a supportive bridge staffing agency, we are partnering to recruit a friendly and hardworking Kitchen Assistant for Wellford Gardens, a stunning luxury new-build care home in Wheatley, Oxford. Offering 65 bedrooms, this three-storey home provides round-the-clock residential and dementia care within luxurious surroundings, featuring private dining, a cinema, landscaped gardens, and modern innovative technologies.
In this role, you will work as part of our passionate catering team to create delicious meals, snacks, and drinks for residents. You will get to know individual preferences so that mealtimes are always a highlight of the day!
Key Responsibilities
Meal Preparation & Service: Help prepare and serve delicious, nutritious meals, snacks, and drinks for residents.
Kitchen Hygiene: Maintain pristine kitchen hygiene standards and comply with safety regulations at all times.
Resident Engagement: Build warm relationships with elderly residents to understand their personal food likes and dislikes.
Team Collaboration: Support the wider catering and care team to ensure a seamless, high-quality dining experience.
What We Are Looking For
Experience: Formal catering experience is not essential (we provide full training!), though holding a Basic Food Hygiene Certificate is a plus.
Attitude: A positive, can-do approach, a keen interest in food/cooking, and a strong sense of pride in maintaining cleanliness standards.
Communication: Friendly, confident communication skills with a natural ability to connect with elderly residents.
