About the Role
We are recruiting a creative and enthusiastic Part-Time Chef on a permanent basis on behalf of Wellesley Hospital in Wellington, Somerset, a purpose-built 101-bed hospital supporting men and women with complex mental health needs, learning disabilities, and autism.
Working 32.25 hours a week, you will craft daily meals for service users, staff, and visitors while supporting the Head Chef with day-to-day kitchen operations. From designing healthy menus and managing stock to catering for special events and festive celebrations like Christmas and Easter, you'll enjoy a calm, pleasurable working environment with great job satisfaction and two days off a week.
What You Will Need
Qualifications: City & Guilds 706/1 and 2 (or equivalent) in Basic Food Preparation Cooking, alongside an essential Basic Food Hygiene certificate (Intermediate Food Hygiene is desirable) and GCSE (or equivalent) in English.
Experience: Previous experience in a similar catering environment, mass service delivery, menu planning, costing, ordering, stock control, and budget management.
Attributes: Must be 18 years or older, highly organized, and passionate about preparing delicious meals to a consistently high standard while adhering to strict safety and HACCP regulations.
Proximity & Attitude: A positive, team-focused approach, and ideally living within a manageable commute of Wellington, Somerset (TA21 9FF).
