As a Senior Engineer, you will join Kier Design’s Structures & Geotechnical capability in Norwich, playing a pivotal role within our 750-strong in-house consultancy. You will lead the delivery of complex civil, structural, and MEICA engineering services across temporary and permanent works for major clients, including Local Authorities, National Highways, Network Rail, and leading water providers, while collaborating with a Top 30 employer on Glassdoor.
Lead the delivery of complex Civil, Structural, and MEICA services across Temporary and Permanent Works, prioritizing safe, buildable, and compliant solutions.
Provide design management leadership by acting as Lead Designer, coordinating multidisciplinary teams and third-party inputs.
Support tenders and bids through outline designs, feasibility studies, and buildability-led solutions, applying innovative value engineering.
Review and approve third-party designs to ensure strict compliance with client briefs, standards, and Kier quality management requirements.
Offer expert technical leadership, identify and mitigate technical risks, and guide project teams through design and construction phases.
IEng (Incorporated Engineer) status with a relevant professional institution (or completion of CEng IPD), EngTech, or substantial equivalent practical experience.
A full UK driving licence and a strong track record working to industry or client standards (such as rail, highways, water, or general infrastructure).
Desirable background knowledge in design and assurance frameworks (e.g., Network Rail, DMRB, MCDHW, WIMES, Minimum Asset Standards).
Desirable experience in water/wastewater processes and/or M&E design, including hydraulics, pump sizing, and pipework.
