Join our dedicated kitchen team in Newark to craft delicious daily meals for service users, staff, and visitors, while adding a special touch to regular events and celebrations like World Food Day, Christmas, Easter, and Family Days!
Support the Head Chef with the day-to-day running of the kitchen, taking full shift responsibility when required.
Plan, prepare, and cook meals to a consistently high standard, catering to special dietary requirements and unit preferences.
Research and create new menus that align with healthy eating guidelines and budget controls.
Maintain rigorous food safety standards, including proper stock rotation, storage procedures, and full HACCP paperwork compliance (temperature logs, cleaning schedules, etc.).
Serve food and beverages professionally and courteously, interacting warmly with residents, staff, and visitors.
Must be 18 years or older with GCSE (or equivalent) English language skills.
City & Guilds 706/1 and 2 (or equivalent) Basic Food Preparation & Cooking qualification.
Essential Basic Food Hygiene certification (Intermediate Food Hygiene is desirable).
Proven professional experience working in a similar catering environment, including menu planning, stock control, and large-scale service delivery.
The Farndon Unit in Newark (NG24 4SW) is a purpose-built hospital providing low secure, rehabilitation, and acute inpatient settings for women with mental health and personality disorder diagnoses.
