About the Role
We are recruiting a dedicated Maintenance Assistant on a permanent basis on behalf of Bere Clinic in Waterlooville, a specialist 12-bed facility supporting young people aged 12-18 with eating disorders and co-morbid mental health or psychological presentations.
Working Monday to Friday (9:00 AM to 5:00 PM), you will play a crucial role behind the scenes ensuring the clinic's facilities, buildings, and equipment remain safe, well-presented, and fully fit for purpose. Your duties will include conducting routine checks and audits, carrying out general repairs, painting and decorating, coordinating contractors, gardening, and participating in a 1-week rotating on-call rota for emergency maintenance.
What You Will Need
Essential Skills: Good DIY, repair, and general maintenance skills, combined with the ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a team.
Experience: Previous professional experience within a maintenance or facilities upkeep role.
Attributes: A respectful, courteous approach towards residents, strong adherence to safety systems and procedures, and a willingness to attend ongoing training.
Proximity: Ideally living within a manageable commute of Waterlooville, Hampshire (PO8 8QT).
