We are currently recruiting a Trainee Lifeguard to join the team on behalf of Leisure Solutions Community Trust at Westgate Leisure Centre in Chichester.
No previous lifeguarding experience is required! This role is open to anyone with the desire to become a lifeguard and who can meet the swim test requirements. You will receive a fully funded Lifeguard qualification course (subject to a training agreement) to kickstart your career.
What You’ll Do
As a Trainee Lifeguard, your responsibilities will include:
Water Safety: Supervise pool activities, ensure everyone can use the pool safely, and act as a vital first responder when needed.
Customer Care: Provide exceptional customer service, interacting warmly with visitors of all ages and backgrounds.
Facility Maintenance: Maintain high standards of cleanliness in the pool area and ensure the safe handling and setup of pool equipment.
Community Engagement: Work as part of a close-knit, supportive team to create an inclusive leisure hub for the entire community.
What We Are Looking For
Swim Competency: You must be able to pass a standard swim test (including jumping/diving into deep water, swimming 50m in under 60 seconds, swimming 100m continuously, treading water for 30 seconds, surface diving, and climbing out unaided).
Training Commitment: Ability to attend the fully funded training course running at Westgate Leisure Centre (100% attendance required).
Customer Focus: Strong interpersonal skills, a positive attitude, and a natural ability to connect with people.
Core Attributes: Vigilant, safety-conscious, and capable of remaining calm under pressure.
