Staff Nurse – Preoperative Assessment
Location: KIMS Hospital, Maidstone, Kent
Hours: 22.5 hours per week (08:00 – 18:00, Monday to Friday, with occasional Saturday working as required)
Salary: £17,100 – £19,125 per annum (Pro-rata based on a full-time equivalent salary of £30,400 – £34,000)

We are currently recruiting an experienced and motivated Staff Nurse to join the multidisciplinary Preoperative Assessment team at KIMS Hospital, Kent’s largest independent hospital.

What You Will Do
Perform holistic pre-assessment checks—including ECGs, phlebotomy, blood pressure, height, and weight measurements—to determine patients are fit for surgery.
Ensure robust, well-documented anaesthetic pre-assessment processes using the digital platform (Lifebox), coordinating with consultant anaesthetists or RMOs when needed.
Assist patients with completing their medical history and champion infection prevention and control in daily practice.
Always maintain high standards of clinical accountability in line with the NMC code of practice.

What We Are Looking For
A qualified Registered Nurse with a current, active NMC PIN.
Proven experience in participating in or running preoperative assessment clinics.
A strong working knowledge of clinical governance and its application.
Valid evidence of the right to work in the UK and a satisfactory DBS check.
