Role: Modification Embodiment Period (MEP) Project Manager
Location: Portsmouth Broad Oak – Hybrid working (2–3 days a week on-site when not deployed abroad)
Salary: Circa £60,000 per annum, dependent on skills and experience + bonus scheme

About the Role
Lead the planning and delivery of critical ship modification, upgrade, and repair activities across international maritime programmes! As a staffing partner, Supportive Bridge Staffing Agency is proud to recruit for this vital MEP Project Manager position on behalf of BAE Systems.
Operating from Portsmouth Broad Oak and engaging in international deployments (including the Middle East), you will act as the key link between UK programme teams and in-country delivery personnel, collaborating closely with shipyards, OEMs, naval stakeholders, and engineering teams to ensure projects are delivered safely and efficiently.
Key Responsibilities
End-to-End Delivery: Lead the planning and execution of ship repair, modification, and upgrade tasks, ensuring full compliance with contractual, technical, and safety requirements.
Stakeholder Coordination: Coordinate closely with on-site teams, subcontractors, and engineering groups both in the UK and internationally (such as BAE Systems Saudi Arabia).
Work Package Control: Define, plan, and control work packages, including resource allocation, progress tracking, and performance reporting.
Risk & On-Site Leadership: Identify emerging risks, develop robust mitigation plans, and provide strong on-site leadership to deployed teams, fostering a culture of safety and accountability.
What We Are Looking For
Industry Experience: Proven background in a Business Delivery role, preferably focused on ship repair, maritime upgrades, or naval platform modifications.
Deployed Capability: Ability and readiness to operate effectively in a deployed international environment, supporting annual modification periods in regions like the Middle East.
Communication & Multicultural Skills: Excellent stakeholder management and communication skills across multicultural teams, shipyards, and engineering staff.
Desirable Background: Experience managing maritime projects within the GCC/KSA region, supported by recognised project management qualifications and the ability to interpret technical engineering documentation.
