About the Role
Support critical maintenance, repair, and manufacturing activities for military and commercial customers! As a staffing partner, Supportive Bridge Staffing Agency is proud to recruit for this vital Slinger Lift Supervisor position on behalf of BAE Systems.
Operating within the Load Test Facility and afloat environments at HM Naval Base Portsmouth, you will safely deliver planned and reactive lifting operations, ensuring high standards of safety, quality, and operational performance while leading lifting activities from planning through to completion.
Key Responsibilities
Lifting Supervision: Lead and supervise complex lifting operations, ensuring all activities are delivered in accordance with approved lift plans and safe systems of work.
Regulatory Compliance: Maintain strict compliance with PUWER and LOLER regulations across all lifting and load movement duties.
Equipment & Signals: Carry out lifting activities using chain blocks and overhead cranes, while applying and interpreting crane hand signals in line with BS 7121.
Collaborative Delivery: Work collaboratively within teams undertaking high-risk, intermediate, and complex lifts across maritime and facilities environments.
What We Are Looking For
Certifications: Recognised Slinger/Signaller and Lift Supervisor certifications, coupled with practical experience in lifting operations.
Qualifications: NVQ Level 3 or equivalent qualifications, and/or demonstrable experience in lifting and load movement operations.
Technical Knowledge: Strong understanding of the responsibilities and interfaces between Appointed Persons and Lift Supervisors.
Categorisation Skills: Considerable knowledge of lift categorisation, with the ability to distinguish between intermediate and complex lifts and apply appropriate controls.
