Supportive Bridge Staffing Agency is proud to partner with Bradford Council to recruit a motivated and diligent Planning Enforcement Officer to join the Planning Service team based at Britannia House.
With major developments taking place in and around the city centre, this role is central to achieving the district's vision by investigating breaches of planning control, ensuring compliance, and protecting our built environment.
As a Planning Enforcement Officer, you will handle a varied caseload within the Planning Enforcement Team and collaborate closely with colleagues handling planning applications. Key responsibilities include:
Case Investigation: Investigating reported breaches of planning control and initiating appropriate, timely enforcement action.
Prosecutions & Formal Action: Managing complex enforcement cases, including preparing and handling cases that proceed to prosecution.
Site Visits: Traveling across the district to conduct thorough site visits when breaches are reported (a valid driving licence is essential).
Customer Service & Standards: Delivering high standards of customer service while helping the service meet its corporate targets.
We are looking for a proactive, detail-oriented professional who meets the following essential criteria:
A good understanding of the planning process and development management.
Strong investigative, problem-solving, and communication skills.
The ability to manage a varied workload, handle difficult situations diplomatically, and work collaboratively within a team.
A current driving licence and access to a vehicle for site visits.
