Clinical Research Nurse/Practitioner NHS AfC: Band 5

Supportive Bridge Staffing & Recruitment is pleased to assist our valued client in recruiting an enthusiastic Band 5 Clinical Research Nurse or Practitioner to join their Women’s and Children’s Research team. Based at the Norfolk and Norwich University Hospital (NNUH)—a premier 1,200-bedded teaching facility—this part-time position (22.5 hours per week, 12-month fixed-term/secondment) offers an excellent opportunity to contribute to high-impact clinical trials in Norwich, UK.

Working within the NIHR Norfolk Clinical Research Facility (CRF) and Neonatal Intensive Care Unit (NICU), you will manage care pathways for patients and families participating in groundbreaking clinical trials. You will recruit, educate, and monitor trial participants, adhere strictly to research governance and trial protocols, perform clinical procedures, and collect high-quality data in collaboration with multidisciplinary research teams across the Norwich Research Park ecosystem.

Role Description

As a Band 5 Clinical Research Nurse/Practitioner, you will manage participant care pathways within NICU and Women’s & Children’s clinical trials, ensure protocol compliance, perform clinical procedures, and maintain accurate study documentation.

Key Responsibilities

• Recruit, educate, and manage care pathways for infants, patients, and families participating in clinical research studies within NICU and maternity settings.

• Perform clinical skills required for trial protocols, including phlebotomy, cannulation, ECG recording, and administration of IV infusions.

• Maintain meticulous data collection and clinical documentation in full compliance with research governance guidelines, trial protocols, and Good Clinical Practice (GCP).

Requirements

• Active registration as a Registered Nurse on the NMC register OR a Degree in a health, life science, or research-related field (or equivalent clinical research experience).

• Solid understanding of clinical research processes, protocols, and regulatory governance.

• Proven clinical competencies (phlebotomy, IV administration, cannulation) along with excellent communication, organizational, and teamwork skills.
