Position Details
Location: Hurstwood View Care Home, Linum Lane, Uckfield, TN22 3FH
Pay Rate: £19.22 per hour
Contract Type: Bank (Flexible, casual part-time hours to cover and support as needed)
Shifts: Days (Including working alternate weekends)
About the Role
As a Bank Chef at Barchester, you will have the chance to deliver hotel and restaurant standards of hospitality in a warm, person-centred environment. You will assist the Head Chef in creating nutritious, flavoursome, and well-balanced menus tailored directly around the residents' preferences and wellbeing.
Key Responsibilities:
Prepare and cook wholesome, high-quality dishes using fresh seasonal produce.
Help manage the kitchen efficiently in the Head Chef’s absence.
Assist in leading, inspiring, and motivating the kitchen team.
Manage stock control, work within budgets, and complete regular audits.
Ensure strict adherence to HACCP guidelines and food safety standards.
About You

Qualifications: Hold City & Guilds, NVQ, SVQ, or equivalent catering certifications.
Experience: Proven experience working with fresh seasonal food and helping to lead a team.
Knowledge: A solid understanding of nutrition and HACCP procedures.
