As a Design Engineer, you will join the 750-strong internal consultancy, Kier Design, within our Structures and Geotechnical team based in Norwich. Working across a diverse range of civil and structural infrastructure projects, you will provide safe, buildable, and innovative engineering solutions for both core and complex schemes, contributing to a high-impact team recognized as a Top 30 employer on Glassdoor.
Deliver safe, buildable civil, structural, and MEICA solutions across both temporary and permanent works.
Produce comprehensive infrastructure design solutions covering structures, highways, geotechnics, and utilities.
Support bids and tenders with feasibility studies, outline designs, and innovative conceptual engineering.
Drive value engineering and alternative solutions to improve project efficiency and market competitiveness.
Review third-party designs and actively manage technical risk throughout the design and delivery phases.
Lead or support project delivery outputs, including site visits and collaborative client engagements.
Professionally developing towards or holding IEng, EngTech, or CEng (IPD) status, or equivalent practical experience.
Qualified to Level 6 or 7, or bringing strong, proven practical engineering experience in a civil, structural, or infrastructure design background.
Demonstrated working knowledge of industry standards across sectors like highways, rail, or water.
Confidence working collaboratively within multidisciplinary environments and managing complex infrastructure projects.
A full UK driving license and willingness to attend site visits and project locations.
